Hand Hygiene is of Utmost Importance before handling Contact Lens {CL}. After washing hands with soap and water, dry them with lint-free cloth or paper towel, as Bad Hygiene practices are linked to higher risk of contamination.
Why Should One Not Interchange Right And Left Eye Contact Lens?
Do Not Interchange the Right Eye CL with Left Eye CL as lens may have different power. Before placing CL in the eye, make sure its shape looks like Half a Ball and not a Soup Bowl with a Rim.
What Solution Should One Use for Keeping Contact Lens Hydrated?
Never use Tap Water or Saliva to clean CL. Rinse them with Lens Solution which has been advised by your Eye Specialist. Keep your CL Moist or Hydrated. Avoid adding New Solution to Old Solution which is already in the case, as it may lead to Eye Infection.
Contact Lens Wearers Should Also Follow These Guidelines:
*Do Not apply Make-up closer to eyes, as it may lead to eye irritation. If the eye appears red, watery, vision is blurry or you find sticky discharge, consult your Eye Specialist.
*Do Not Wear CL for Long Hours or Sleep with them. Neither whilst taking Shower or Swimming. It is better to carry Back-up Pair of Glasses. Plus Point of wearing glasses for few hours daily helps Cornea to Breathe Oxygen and Stay Healthy.
*Whether your CL are Cosmetic or to Correct Vision, do not share your lenses with anyone including family members—it should not touch anyone else’s eyeball as there may be a risk of contracting HIV.
*For maintaining Good Eye Sight, one should not skip Annual Eye Check up with your Eye Specialist.
Absolutely love how understanding Dr. Kumud Raut is. The only place where I have not been told about only the process of getting a surgery, but rather they insist on educating about how the eye functions and the importance of having a healthy eye before any surgery.
