It depends upon your condition for which aspirin was started.
For example,If any procedure like angioplasty or bypass surgery was done less than 6 months before cataract surgery,your heart specialist will advice to continue antiplates before cataract surgery.,with a due risk of increased bleeding after surgery.
If it is more than 6 months he will advice to stop aspirin 3 to 5 days before surgery.If you are on two antiplatelet drugs,he may ask you to stop one of it and continue plain tablet of one platelet like aspirin
So you must consult your specialist before surgery.Our physician can speak to him on phone if needed.
Blood thinners are drugs like aspirin or clopidogrel,which thinns your blood,so they are usually started by cardiologist after angioplasty or cardiac bypass surgery or to prevent clots after paralysis or any neorological event by an neurologist.
While anticoagulants are drugs,which prevent formation of clot .They are advised in Deep venous thrombosis or arterial thrombosis Your specialist may stop them 3 to 5 days before surgery and or replace it with heparin injection.
So it is important to consult your physician before stopping these drugs.

My cataract surgery is done by Dr Rajeev Raut. I am very satisfied with my surgery. Dr. Bhargav is an excellent doctor and is very calm and polite. I was also operated for my retina by Dr. Nilesh.
