Is cataract and glaucoma same eye disease?

No. Cataract and Glaucoma are two different eye diseases. Cataract is an eye condition in which the lens in the eye gets opacified whereas glaucoma is an eye disease related to the eye pressure causing damage to the optic nerve. It is possible that one can have cataract and glaucoma at same time. The treatment for both the diseases are different from each other. The ultimate treatment for cataract is a cataract surgery whereas glaucoma can be managed by drops and surgery. The vision lost only due to cataract can be regained back after a cataract surgery whereas the vision lost due to glaucoma cannot be regained.

Absolutely love how understanding Dr. Kumud Raut is. The only place where I have not been told about only the process of getting a surgery, but rather they insist on educating about how the eye functions and the importance of having a healthy eye before any surgery.

My cataract surgery is done by Dr Rajeev Raut. I am very satisfied with my surgery. Dr. Bhargav is an excellent doctor and is very calm and polite. I was also operated for my retina by Dr. Nilesh. He too is a great doctor. I am Very satisfied. And all the staff here is very cooperative and accommodating. Thanks
